Advocate, Mediator and NED

Caroline has a wealth of cross-sector experience and a wide range of skills garnered throughout her career, having qualified as a Jersey Advocate in 2009.

Employing her breadth of knowledge, Caroline is able to meet a diverse range of client needs, from representation in court to the independent mediation of disputes.

Caroline advises clients on contractual, licensing, regulatory and employment matters. Having previously worked for the Attorney General in Jersey, as well as the Jersey Financial Services Commission, she is uniquely placed to advise clients and Boards on Corporate Governance and regulatory issues. Caroline’s unique cross-section of skills particularly come to the fore in those instances where both regulatory and employment issues are intertwined.

Caroline frequently provides training on topics including Director’s duties, corporate governance, data protection, GDPR and financial sanctions – an area in which she drafted the Jersey Financial Service Commission’s industry guidance. Caroline has lectured on the subject of financial sanctions at conferences and seminars including those held by STEP, World-Check, the Jersey Bankers Association and the Jersey Compliance Officers Association.

Caroline is currently Vice Chair of the Chamber Connection Committee of the Jersey Chamber of Commerce and a member of Jersey’s Dispute Resolution Board.

“I was continually impressed by Caroline’s professionalism, diligence, knowledge she displayed and the incredibly detailed preparation she undertook in readiness for the court hearing. Caroline demonstrated that she could not only craft compelling and well-constructed legal reasoning, she was uniquely able to articulate it in an extremely impactful way.”

“Having a ‘good’ advocate is one thing, and there is no doubt Caroline is clearly a highly competent and accomplished advocate, but the real impact she made was with her compassion and understanding of our situation.”

“Caroline is a specialist in her field and uniquely positioned as she has previously been employed by the Jersey Regulator. I found Caroline to be extremely likeable and professional and would recommend her in respect of advice relating to any Jersey regulatory matter.”
